'If you don’t think representation matters, you’re probably well-represented'
  Bernice King

The MINA Magazine ICON Edition marks the launch of an exciting new platform dedicated to women with roots in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Unveiled at a festive event on June 13, 2025, at The College Hotel in Amsterdam, this inaugural edition is a celebration of inspiration, creativity, and connection within the MENA communitwww.instagram.com/minatribe_/?locale=nl&hl=afy. The magazine aims to provide a visible stage for MENA women, highlighting their strength, diversity, and creativity through a rich collection of interviews, photography, and personal stories.

MINA Magazine was founded to give MENA women a prominent place in the social and cultural landscape, offering them a “seat at the table” where their stories and talents are front and center. The ICON Edition launch event featured a panel discussion with inspiring women from the magazine, networking opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs, and a festive unveiling of the very first issue.

By sharing experiences and empowering one another, MINA Magazine strives to break stereotypes and foster a sense of community, representation, and empowerment. The ICON Edition stands as a milestone in building an inclusive network that celebrates the versatility and resilience of MENA women, inviting readers to be inspired by their stories and achievements.

The MENA woman (Middle East North Africa) plays a crucial role in our shared history; her stories have made a valuable contribution to the emancipation of women. Now it is time to not only give her story but also the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of this and future generations more space and a platform. Cultural development is a continuous process shaped by various factors, and an important element in this is the interaction within communities: people who actively contribute to creating, sharing, and consuming cultural content.

MINA aims to strengthen the ties between networks and stimulate a vibrant cultural exchange to have a positive impact on society. A diverse culture not only promotes sustainable economic growth and prosperity but also enhances innovation, entrepreneurship, tourism, trade, and international relations. This has a favorable effect on the labor market and supports our ambition to further encourage dialogue within the MENA community.

Our mission is to support the cultural development of MENA women in the Netherlands by providing inspiring content and building an inclusive community. We strive for everyone to feel heard and seen and for the beauty of different cultures to be celebrated. MINA is a movement born from the mindset of entrepreneurial, creative, and highly educated women who join forces to make more impact together. Their valuable contribution to the city of Amsterdam stems from a shared vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and the creation of an innovative network.

MINA mentor program 2025

The Move Forward mentorship program, a collaboration between Girls Forward and the MINA platform, offers young women aged 18 to 27 the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Throughout the program, participants receive guidance from experienced female mentors from various sectors, attend inspiring workshops, and gain access to networking opportunities such as speed dating with professionals. Additionally, joint dinners are organized where participants can network in an informal setting and further develop themselves.

"Representation matters because it validates our existence and empowers others to see themselves in a world that often overlooks or marginalizes their experiences"
